Our Story

The bar had stood on the edge of Torch Lake for as long as anyone could remember, a place where fishermen swapped stories, families gathered for burgers, and laughter echoed over cold beers.

When my husband and I took it over, it was

Torch Lake Beer Company but in need of a fresh spark.

So we gave it one.

For years, we poured our hearts into it, watching the glow of warm lights reflect off the lake, serving up flavors that brought people together.

We were proud of what we’d built.

But as the years passed, something kept happening. Locals would pull up a stool, sip their drinks, and say with a smile, “You know, we loved the Old Bar.” Or, “Torch Lake is great, but we miss what it used to be.”

At first, we resisted.

Change was good, right?

But the more we listened, the more we understood.

This bar wasn’t just a business. It was home for so many. It was where generations had gathered, where traditions were kept alive. And we realized something—we hadn’t lost the heart of the place. We had just dressed it up in something new when all it really needed was to be itself.

So, we did what felt right. We brought it back.

The Old Bar was reborn as The Alden Bar, a name that honored its roots and the community that made it special. The old neon sign was dusted off. The wood regained its well-worn charm. The menu? The best burgers, the coldest beer, and spirits poured with a knowing nod.

And the people came.

Now, as the sun sets over Torch Lake, and the lights of The Alden Bar flicker against the water, we know we made the right choice. Not just for us—but for everyone who ever pulled up a stool and called this place home,delicious meals and drinks with friends and family. We use locally sourced ingredients to create our dishes, and we strive to provide our customers with the best service possible.

Private events- We provide on site and off site catering for Weddings, rehearsal dinners, graduation party’s, birthdays, celebration of life, if you celebrating let us take care of the rest. We also have equipment rentals as well. Call us today for more information
